Stacia Farrar is a fashion designer and educator based in Chicago, bringing 15 years of industry experience from New York City to her teaching practice. She graduated summa cum laude with a BS in Fashion Design and has built a career spanning dress design and merchandising for major department stores, including Nordstrom, Saks Fifth Avenue, Lord & Taylor, and Dillard’s. Stacia currently serves as an Adjunct Professor of Fashion Studies and teaches students of all ages through both higher education and online learning platforms Outschool and Fashion Studies by Stacia. Through her courses, she believes that teaching design gives children not only creative and technical skills, but also a new way to see the world around them—learning how to observe, imagine, and find inspiration everywhere.
