Illuminating + Ultimate Gray

Although the 2021 colors have been quite a controversial combo, no doubt, there is a LOT behind this color choice...

Yellow! This bright, happy color makes perfect sense as the choice after the mess of 2020. (Personal note, I have always worn yellow when it's raining to brighten the day!) Fun fact: The last time @pantone Pantone picked yellow as color of the year was following the stock market crash of 2008.🌀

Now for Ultimate Gray... don't get me wrong, I actually love Gray, but I do find it a surprising choice considering how long we've been in a gray cycle, especially in interiors. The combination of yellow and gray is also very reminiscent of the 2010s, but from a commercial stance, it does make sense. Yellow is a risk, so pairing it with a highly commercial partner is smart. πŸ’‘β

If it were me? I would have paired Illuminating with Caramel. Shades of brown are having a major resurgence in fashion and interiors and the combination of the two is greater than the sum of its parts. Stay tuned for the next blog post to see what I mean! :)

What do you think of our new duo?
